These threads are always dumb. Nothing good ever comes from them...

I'll not add my vote to the poll, but I'll point out that $40k, $50k a month sounds like a lot to someone with one car.

But I have 6 cars and two trailers. (And some other off road things) They can't all be 996TTs, or M5s... what is wrong with an X5 for the wife's suv? Why buy a cayenne or an X5M for the SUV duty? For a driver that gets no thrill from a car? Frankly her horses make my cars seem very affordable. And they die, get lame, etc...whereas cars can be fixed...but I digress

Silly poll- yes, I know there was a disclaimer... but you cannot even interpret the results, IMO income does not drive car choice as a primary factor.

My income went up significantly several years ago. I sold my X5 and we bought an X3. No correlation what so ever.

... +2

Maybe of slight interest to the curious drive-bys, but even for this ol'RetiredBum, who watches new car purchases out of common fiscal sense, we still own/drive what we want and what makes sense to us, and our situ.

Fwiw, the ol' annual 'income', (interest & dividends), is barely a fifth of what it was in the dual income/no payments daze, but we aren't missing lunch.
