I asked for both. I said, basically, give me the income that is responsible for the payment of your vehicle. If said payment comes out of JUST your income (aka you afford it and all of your other bills) then you should tick the poll choice that reflects just YOUR income range.

If you, like me, combine your income with someone else or other people to pay for your vehicle then your choice in the poll should reflect all incomes combined.

Granted, now that I look back at my wording; I could easily "afford" to pay for my truck and all of my other bills with just MY income. However, it's just easier to make a spreadsheet that combines both incomes (my girlfriend and myself) and then deduct our bills off of that TOTAL income number. It's all a matter of choice and opinion.

Bottom line: if you pool your income together with someone else then choose that. If you're single or the primary breadwinner of the family/household then choose that value.

Am I making this too complicated or are you guys?

Ha well I think then you are asking for wide range if you say by household or by single, etc. Obviously dual income will be $100K+ and single under $100K for the most part. That's why I say it needs to be based on your own income---it's not like you say "Hey I'm married now so now I can afford an X5"---it's most likely based on your own income-- just like if you were single.

Really, I'm pretty sure my X5M sits near the top of that heap in terms of both price and performance.

My 3.0 X5 M Sport, maybe somewhere in the middle in terms of price.
It's a great car though; just a little under powered.

Still, I'd buy it befor any of the others you've listed.

WHO CARES?! In my original post I specifically said the idea came due to me being bored. If you don't want to participate...don't.

Also, as I stated in a later post, this was not for any sort of analysis and shouldn't be considered "real" data.

Just move on with your life, man. You're making this out to be like it's the end-all-be-all of polls and if the results are skewed a little bit (more than they are) then the world might implode on itself before October 21, 2011.

Haha I'm like you I really don't care--polls and Top 10 Lists are dime a dozen. I just loved my Statistics class more than you I guess

Glad you were cool about that. I thought, for sure, I'd have another angry X'er on my hands who would threaten my life and all sorts of other things.

Cheers.

with 53+ people with gross annual income of 150K+ i'm surprised so many people are worried about little things like transmissions and how expensive dealerships could be on this forum. Just saying that its interesting.

I'd like to make $0/yr, and be content to own a cabin on a mountain near the dragon.

Agree, if I earned $150K+/year (excluding wife), you will only see me b..ching about how poor was the dealership experience for my Bentley, Porsche (Panamera Turbo S), Aston Martin, Maserati, Ferrari or Lamborghini...
