And most importantly screw that steering column shifter! Whoops nvm, didn't see the good pics in the OP...Exterior is ugly to my eyes...looks like a botched jeep, which it is. Interior looks identical to the jeep as well with a few upgrades. This reminds me of the gm badge switcheroo! Whats that a tahoe? no no thats an escalade can't you read!

Exterior is a subtle morph of the current ML. Kinda like what they did with their R class. Overall, will be a good seller for Mercedes. Though still love the looks and drive of my X.

I like the front but no too crazy about the rear. Overall it's a good looking SUV. I test drove a 2011 ML and neither my wife or I liked it. It is a comfortable car for passengers but I would not recommend it as a "drivers car". The overall handling and steering of the X5 was far better.

Is it just me or does anyone else see a fair bit of E53 and/or E70 in the side flanks, between about halfway on the hood to the beginning of the C pillar? This more aggressive look is diluted by the minivan appearance behind the C pillar and the longish overhang, no doubt to accommodate 3rd row seating.
I once owned the first-gen ML and liked it for its era, not so fond of the subsequent designs. I like the E70 design from the front (best view), the profile is excellent until the very rearmost area (D pillar or thereabouts), where is sorta gives up a bit of aggressiveness but not too bad. |
