I miss mine too, but only until I go back out to the parking garage and drive home I just got mine 3 weeks ago and really, really enjoy this vehicle.
Owned a e46 330ci, e46 325cic, e60 530i, e83 X3, and now this e70. It is the best so far. I have to say my old 530i was a really hard car to beat but it did not have the sports pack where my current X5 does. The active suspension turns this thing into feeling like a coupe to me (my wife drives a e93 328i cabrio and I usually drive on the weekends, the feel and handling are really similar IMHO).

I dont miss my old V8 6sp one bit. It NEVER accelerated smoothly. I had the computer reprogrammed more times than I can remember but it just never did it right. (I think the nav slowed the entire computer down and it would never start or launch correctly) I almost traded for a different brand, I was so disappointed in that car.
The new 400hp w 8 sp is no comparison in my opinion. Its fantastic! I was happy to waive the old one goodbye!

My 2008 4.8i gave me nothing but headaches, and if you search the forums...there are quite a few 4.8i owners that feel the transmission (as was mine) is dreadful. Mine was rough, jerky and going up even small hills..it would just hold on to a gear and rev and rev without proper upshifting. Software updates, software updates....but never really improved. So for me...it was good riddance with my 4.8i.
Now my 2004 4.8is.....I miss that car EVERYDAY!!!! |

Love mine and there is a service bulletin that fixes the tranny issue (worked on mine).

I thought it was a software issue when I first bought the truck. Then "transmission failure" and a non-starting truck prompted me to drop it off at the dealer, in front of their garage bay doors, sideways. I figured that would piss them off enough to fix this issue I was having and complaining about.
It did. They replaced the camshaft sensor and one other sensor (I forgot exactly which one at the moment) and now she's as smooth as buttah. Even my coworker says it's night and day difference. He used to have a 335 so he's a snob just like all of us. |

Have to agree with others. The 50 is better than the 48 in every way. And the 8spd shits on the 6spd

Except the stereo. For some reason I cannot get past thinking the premium audio in the old 4.8 sounded far superior to the premium in the new 50.
