07 X5 Tire sizes

I have a 2007 CPO X5 4.8 with sports package. I'm replacing the rear tires and have been told by a tire store that the rear tires are supposed to be larger than the front when equipped w/ the sports package. My tires are 255 50 R19 all around.

Are the rear tires/rims supposed to be larger?

On the 18 and 19 inch rims the tires front and back are delivered the same size. if you had 20 inch rims the back rim is wider and has larger tires on the back. Bind a better tire guy.
