LED Coronas

When I ordered my 35d on March 5th I asked the CA when LED corona's would be available. I explained that I had heard they were coming in April and if that was the case I would prefer to wait 3 or 4 weeks. The CA told me that LED corona's wouldn't be available until the fall when the 2012's come out. I ordered a car based on that info. I took delivery on 3/19 and we completely happy until I learned that as of April 1st LED corona's became standard equipment on the 2011 35d. After thinking about it for a week or so I decided to complain. I complained to the dealership and BMW NA but we all know how useful that is. Finally I decided to try the Better Business Bureau. Believe it or not, the BBB facilitated dialogue that resulted in the dealership taking back my car and ordering a new one for me. It took a month of negotiating but at the end we reached a deal that worked for both parties. I ordered a new on Yesterday, same car with the addition of BMW apps and smart phone integration. The only thing I am losing is self leveling suspension........for some reason it was a no charge feature on my March build.

Now, Aside from LED Corona's and the availability of BMW apps, is anyone aware of any "new" features I can expect compared to my March build?

WOW, WOW!! I cannot the BBB did anything. They are normally totally useless. Congrats. The LED Corona Rings, IMO, are a very important and really cool feature. They should have been on the official 2011 lci E70! Enjoy!! So shocked, and impressed!

WOW. While I don't blame you for wanting the coronas I can't believe that you NEEDED to order a new"er" car to get them. That's crazy to me. I can't even believe they complied. Good work on your part. If it were me I would probably just instead try to negotiate the truck that was already there. But yes, BMW has been so overly complicated on small details and options from the change of pre-LCI to LCI and then LCI quarter cycle.

I know, it is a bit crazy but I am happy with teh outcome. I originally requested a retro-fit but they claimed that the wiring was different. They said that a retro fit, if at all possible, would cost in excess of $7,000. Not sure i buy that but it worked out in the end.

goes to show the CAs don't know everything and cannot be trusted for this type of info. You're better off asking... this forum sometimes.

Totally agree. I asked the CA beacuse I had been reading on the forums that they would be rolling out on the 35d in March or April. I should have pressed the issue a bit harder.

Congrats... I dunno about coronas being "very important". They are silly little lights. With that said I have them and love them!
