Rattling sound coming from Waste Gate

Rattling coming from Waste Gate.
I have posted several threads here and bimmerfest and bimmerpost about the rattling noise coming from my BMW X5 35i. After taking my car in at leat 6 times to the dealer, they finally determined that the noise coming from my car is the Waste Gate. The rattling sound appears when you start the car and at the Under load. You can only hear it when you have the windows rolled down. If you youtube waste gate for bmw you will here it on some of the 335i.

Apparently, there are other owners that have the same issue but are not bothered ny the rattle. My resonse to that is "WTF". How does that not bother you??? My $70,000 car sounds like a Lawn Mower!!!

Now that we figured out where the noise is coming form, i'd like to ask if anyone hears this and if is bothers you? Dealership has told me taht this is normal.

Mine does it but only when it is cold. I just assumed it was normal.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
We've fixed many E9x and E6x vehicles with that engine by simply adjusting the waste-gates, and some of the noisier ones got new waste-gates... Don't know why that dealer is not fixing them, maybe try a different dealer.

Is this for 3.0 (2009) models also ? i hear rattling underload and also in the mornings. Also when driving and letting go of the gas, i can hear rattling almost like dragging a chain type of noise. It goes away the minute i hit the gas pedal again.

Yeah, the N54 engine. SIB 11 04 10 even shows the special tools needed and outlines the whole procedure, in an attached PDF file. Just call back the dealer, tell them the noise is getting worse/louder and you need the adjustments from SIB 11 04 10 performed.

PM me your email address and I'll try to save/send it to you. But just the SIB number should be enough to give them.
