Tekonsha Wireless - BMW not powering the brake pin

OK, so I had no problem mating the Tekonsha to the car/trailer but BMW doesn't power the brake pin on the 7 way. How are people powering the brakes to the trailer?
Is this a dealer install issue? The green/yellow lead should have been tied to a 12volt power source.

I use a Tekonsha Prodigy controller (wired) with the factory hitch and wiring just fine. I did have to wire the brake controller myself. The vehicle had to be programmed after the hitch was installed.

Hmm I'm using the wireless version. I'm wondering if it's not a wiring issue at the dealership.

Can't help with specifics, but I'd try to first determine if Pin 7 is supposed to have 12V (switched or unswithched) and keep the conversation with the dealer on that issue.

Once you speak the words "Tekonsha ____ ____ ____" they MIGHT fall back on the old "contact the manufacture" or "that isn't supported" or "warranty issues"

OP did you have the car coded to support the trailer? I am guessing the dealer install is basically plug in a harness..

Dealer installed hitch and power plug so it should fall on them. In the meantime I put a jumper on the 4 pin brake adapter (by the fuse box - green/yellow to red) people use to setup a hard wired electronic brake controller - now I have a full functioning plug.

So I'm confused.

Is your problem solved or not?

My comment was simply if you say "my brake controller wont work" they may give you guff. If you say "there is supposed to be 12V at the yellow green, and you installed it and it isn't" then they need to fix it.

Nope and they are just confused when I talk to them. I know i shouldnt have to create a jumper for the 4way plug by the fuse box to get power to the 7 way plug on the hitch.
I'm going in for a 12,000 mile service and hopefully I can speak directly to a tech and show them what's going on. If that doesnt work Ineed to find a MN X5 that uses a prodigy so I can check its wiring.

I'm using the Tekonsha wireless too. No problems with activating the trailer brakes.
