Power tailgate Comfort Access

Does anyone have any issues with opening the power tailgate with comfort access? I would come home get out of the car while the engine is still running go to the back of the car and try to open the tailgate with the button under the tailgate with my comfort access fob in my pocket and it would not open. Tried a few times and still won't open. I can lock and unlock the doors though.

I tried again before i pulled into the garage and worked. I had to go back out to pick up some food and again it wouln't open. I had to use the button inside the car.

Are there sensors around the tailgate to prevent it from opening when something is in the way? Can it be interference? Fob was near my phone. Where is the comfort access sensor located for the tailgate?
