Headrest

I've been enjoying my '08 X5 for the past 4mths as a new BWM owner. It's been great except for one thing, the headrest. It sits in the bottom half of my head. I can't figure out how to raise it. I feel like it's such a stupid question, but I know this can't be the way it's designed.

Can anyone help?

It's automatic. The controls are by the seat controls.

The headrest height is electrically adjusted. The seat control for the backrest angle also serves as the restraint height, push it straight up.

I just wish the seat/headrest could be positioned more like 3 series seats. I like being able to rest my head and still be in a full upright position.

Agreed. This is the one complaint I have with the E70 headrests. I used to be able to position them comfortably in my E53 but not so in the E70.

The headrests are also adjustable for 'thickness', to adjust the distance to your head (although it is not an electrically), as well as height.

Not on the '07s. I believe the adaptive headrests started on the Xs in '08. So for now, my headrests just tilt forward.
