Or maybe this is just a HOAX? 2012 BMW X5 diesel recalled over belt tensioner issue

How can there be a recall on 2012 diesel models when they haven't gone into production yet? Do they mean MY2011 ones?

Repost of an old and erroneously reported issue.
2012 Diesels are not yet in production. Yes there was a recall on a engine belt tensioner bracket. Embarrassingly I think it was BMW that issued the initial recall with '2012" in the description and has since corrected it... Recall Results | Safercar.gov | NHTSA
