Adaptive drive you feel every second you are driving, that I highly value.

Reports of CA failures are around- people cant get in; water on the car results in doors and windows opening by themselves- in a thunderstorm; car is unlocked in the morning.

It used to be stand alone, at $1000- easy to skip. If it is tied to nav and the other items in the premium package, I'll live with it. Hope to see what the a la carte menu looks like....

I did not order CA on my 2011 X5D for these same reasons, too many problems. The thought of the windows and sunroof opening in a rainstorm was the final nail in the coffin for CA for me.

No new engine for diesel. A new engine means BMW has to do homologation of the engine for all states in US. That is expensive and not justified when diesel sales in US are still not where they should be. Maybe the tri-turbo 45d with 3rd gen X5.

I also think there is a challenge to keep overall MPG of the "fleet" high to comply with gov regulations. 40d or 45d mostly likely will decrease overall MPG... just my thoughts.
