I'm thinking about upgrading the wheels to 20 inches + conti's DWS, but was wondering if the car will be as harsh as my old 2007 X5, or if the fact of having a non-sport suspension on the new car won't make it as harsh?

What makes the ride harsher, wheels or suspension? I'm willing to compromise for the looks of the 20 inchers, but I definetly dont want it to be as harsh as my old car.

Anyone has any experience going through a similar change?

Im taking delivery on thursday btw....thanks!
I went from a very jarring 2008 4.8i w 20s and sport suspension to a very supple 2012 50i with 20s and no sport suspension. The ride is simply not comparable. I am amazed its the same car.

I often thought the wheels were responsible for the rough ride of my previous X5 but as it turns out its just the suspension. You will be amazed how smooth it is even with the larger tires. Do not hesitate as it is exactly what you are looking for. Especially if you get non rft tires.
