BMW App UK version

I downloaded "My BMW Remote" (UK Version) and was able to successfully set it up to my x5, but am only able to use three of the five promised features:
-remote door lock and unlock
- google local search and send to the vehicle nav system
- vehicle finder

Anybody else had any luck with the other two features?
-Remote climate control
-Remote light flash

I tried asking the sale rep that helped us, but he only heard of the "BMW Connected" app, which is pretty cool too but lacks features found on its Euro counterpart.

Nope. That's the only functionality I was able to get on the X5.

Was it hard to configure?

I was thinking of downloading this app? Was this difficult to set up? Does it matter what version of E70 ie.. US spec or does it need to be Euro spec? Thanks

the app is currently aviliable on UK iTunes only, so if you want to use it on a U.S. spec car like i did, you need to create a UK iTunes account so you can dowload it.
once you have it downloaded you can switch back to your U.S. account. setup was very easy and took about 3 mins. it will ask you for your user name which is just the email you have on file with BMW Assist, then it will ask you for the password. the password is the default password that was on your account when you first picked it up from the dealer (example 0000, or 1111) not the new password you may have given to bmw assist. then it will ask you for the password on the account which is the same default password again.
that's it, let me know if you get stuck.

Password

Is the original default password written anywhere in the manual etc..? I am not sure what it was when it was changed. The dealer changed it when I was there accepting the vehicle.

The US app and UK app broken for me

I installed the US app ( ver 2.0 ). One trick to logging in is that your BMWAssist email address must be IN ALL CAPS. Also you need the PIN for your BWMAssist account. I had to call up to find out.

So the US app does locate the car ( only if within 0.6 miles from the iPhone, and not if the car is running ) and it will unlock the driver side door. Locking does not seem to work.

Biggest disappointment is Google Send to Car is broken. Every attempt gives a Data Transmission Error.

I went into the car menu and erased all the previous Destinations, and Refreshed all the Services. Still no luck.

Tried the trick of making a UK Apple Store login and installed but that is the same Version 2.0 and is broken. I guess the prior UK version is gone. Here is a link if you are interested - Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card

Uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. . . I called BMWAssist today and was told I am the first to call and report a problem! Not likely.
