Soft close doors coming to the US

I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about the soft close doors coming to the US anytime soon. I just placed an order and would hate for that to be an October feature.

Any thoughts?

Does anyone know why Lane Departure is not an optional feature on the Premium edition?

Thanks and interesting. Does anyone have anything in writing? I think for the money I'd like to wait for the soft close doors. If this is the case, what would the earliest order date be?

Soft close doors are a completely frivolous feature, but they're awesome!

They ruin your door-shutting ability though. We had our x6 only a week when it had to go in to have the bumper painted. My 10yo son and I had to continually reshut the doors on our 3series loaner because apparently we're now too stupid to know how to shut doors!

That is so funny you mention that. I have soft close doors on my M5 and whenever I drive my wifes car it takes 2 or 3 times to close the doors properly. HAHAHA

I just posted this in another thread -- BMW announced yesterday that the soft close doors will be a $600 stand alone option effective with October builds.

EDIT -- oops! Should have read the earlier post, referencing my earlier post. LOL.

October builds will begin in October. 1st week. I have my build week already. (1st week October.) Expected delivery 15 November. (it takes 5 weeks to ship over here, then I am picking it up at the Welt.) I have the soft close option, and brushed aluminum trim! (yea, no wood.)
