Same as my trip through the Rockies last year, in winter. Fully loaded vehicle and trailer. X3 on the E46 platform. It did great.
Superduty and Dodge Cummins pickups are great, but are massive overkill for most towing.

I just never liked the idea of towing with a car. Even the X3 doesn't seem like enough juice to tow something for me. I towed a similar loaded up UHaul, the next size up with dual axels, in my 2005 I6 TrailBlazer and you could tell it was struggling a bit. Then again, I guess I may be bias. My father always had RAM 2500's when I was a kid, so towing our boats and campers was a breeze. I guess I grew up "tow-spoiled" and my standards are higher than some.
