I've been researching it myself and the Blizzaks get awesome reviews.

I've always been a fan of Blizzak tires, I've purchased about 3 sets and put well over 100k combined on them which is pretty good given they are such a soft tread compound. That said they were on a sedan not a SUV. I'm not a fan of Bridgestone typically but I'm thinking of picking up a set for this car here soon.

I swore by the Blizzaks on my 328i which was useless in the snow and needed 3 sand bags in the trunk in addition to the Blizzaks
![]() I have been 100% satisfied with the Dunlop Grandtrek WT M3 that come on the BMW winter wheel package though. The X5 surpasses pretty much any other vehicle with those tires on. I have gone places and been able to go on roads that other SUVs have not. So I think you'll be happy with pretty much any winter tire... |

I used Blizzaks on my Cavalier when I was in highschool. They turned that thing into a tank, of sorts.
Then again, that was a LONG time ago and a Cavalier isn't a X5. However, I've always heard great things about them from friends, family and reviews. My one experience with them was great. |

I can higfhly recommend Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow even with a staggered '19s size. I was fine on very icey roads and moderately deep snow. I have no experience with the others mentioned.

I put non RFT Blizzaks on the OEM 18" wheels (2010 X535d) .
I've had them on our A8L (mounted on BBS wheels) for about 8 yrs or so, rotating between the OEM wheels and summer tires as the season changes. I find they provide excellent winter driving confidence and they wear exceptional well. I have no reason to consider an alternative, I'd buy them again. |
