Is there a way to automatically enable parktronic at slow speed?

My former Land Rover had this feature that automatically enabled front & rear parktronics if your speed was less than a certain MPH, i.e. when parking, etc. I found it very convenient and really miss in X5.

To enable the parking sensors you need to go into reverse first. I'm not sure if that helps you buy that's how you "turn it on".

unfortunately, putting it in reverse or pushing the button do not fall in the "automatic" category.

So true.

So the answer to the OP is no, not possible from the factory.

That would be very annoying in stop and go traffic. Slow down to a crawl and it comes on and starts beeping? If not you being too close, often folks behind get too close.

It's not annoying at all. I missed it EVERYDAY in my E70 and 750i. For Mercedes and Land Rover with Parktronic (Park Distance), it comes on automatically at slow speeds. It only activates when in very close distance situations, uhhhhh like for parking

We have had 3 Range Rovers and probably 15 new Mercedes models, and NOT ONE SINGLE time has the PDC gone off in bumper to bumper traffic!!

In our 2008 Toyota Sienna van it works like Range Rover setup. it has never come on ever in bumper to bumper driving. I miss it on E70.

How do you know it's working then?

It's pretty simple to push the PDC button when pulling into your garage or parking spot, in fact it becomes automatic.

Does it beep at you every time you pull up behind another car at a traffic light or stop sign? I like the idea of it being automatic, but wouldn't want it beeping at me in traffic all the time.
