Does BMWUSA really frown upon SAs giving out vehicale history information to clients that request it? I used to be able to get full reports on any of my previous BMWs, from my SA. But now he says that it would cost him his job to do so.
That's only leading me to believe there's something nasty in the history of my recently purchased CPO '07 X5 he doesn't want to see. Is such a request frowned upon within these forums too?

Yes, they do.
It is not "your car's history"...it is the 'history of prior business transactions with the prior owner' However, if you have a personal relationship with the SA and all of a sudden he is clamming up, that's wierd. |

Try going to a different dealer and seeing if they'll pull the history and give it to you. Did that years ago with my wife's 3k mile ML430 only to find it had been bought back due to engine issue and had a new upper end...selling dealer told me the buyer had an ML55 on order and that mine was his interim.....car was nothing but trouble and no lemon law to help me.
