scollins is on a distinguished road
I've had the parking brake malfunction at least 4 times in the year I've owned the X535d. There may have been another time, I can't recall.

The last one happened right before a dealer service for the brake pads, so I asked them to check it out. They found codes, but the initial response from the computer was "codes cleared, release vehicle." My SA said "4 to 5 times in a year is bogus", and that he has seen it happen more often than it should on other vehicles. So he kept working it until the system gave him the approval to replace the "actuator with control unit". Part number 34-43-6-796-072.

Seems to be working fine now.

Nice to have an SA who is on my side.....
