Voting for the 2012 Diesel Car of the Year started yesterday and the X5 diesel (BMW´s sole remaining diesel in US) is on the ballot. Last year, the 335d won. Thanks to Jonathan Spira for pointing this out.

The F30 started production a few weeks back, thus no more E90 production. North America will not see a diesel 3er for at least a few years; demand was weak and BMW isn't going to bother fitting an "old" drivetrain (M57 with 6AT) into a new chassis. Remember the rest of the world gets the N57 + 8AT combo for the x35d since last year.

Voted for the golf too, due to it's outstanding fuel economy.
