M Sport winter wheel question
I did search, and found one related thread, but it just confused me more. If I have a 2012 X5 M Sport package (not the X5M), can I use the same wheels as the Non M Sport E70's? Is it just the actual X5M's that need a different winter setup? i.e. to clear the brakes? Sorry if this has been covered before. i just want to make sure I want to order the M sport package. I live in WI and need to have the winter wheel thing figured out first. If anyone has pics/recommendations, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance. |

The X5 M needs the special wheels to clear the brakes and to fit the X6-size hub bore.
I would imagine you to be ok using regular E70 wheels on a regular E70 as long as the brakes aren't larger...

You should be able to use any E70 X5 (not X5M) wheels. I have the M Sport Package, and I used Style 210 wheels with all season tires for two winters. I recently sold them and bought Style 223M wheels (see picture below) with a staggered setup and dedicated snow tires. I haven't put them on my X5 yet; I still have my Style 227M Summer wheels/tires on.

Since we're discussing wheels, I recently purchased style 336 can anyone tell me if they will fit my 6/11 built 2011 X5d without any modification or will i have to bore rear wheels? motordavid has been very helpful with my thread "Help Style 336 wheels" but i forgot to ask about the fitment in my thread. My sincere apology to steve as it is not my intention to hijack his thread. As always your help will be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards, |
