How to remove ECU in E70?

Google Search is failing me. I can't find anywhere that describes how to remove the ECU from an E70 X5. Looked on other forums too. Only BMW-related doc that I've found so far says I need to go through the glove compartment.

Can anyone offer instructions or point me to a link?
