Running boards

I am trying to remove the aluminum (silver) piece from my running boards. I have searched for threads regarding the running boards but what I have read is mainly concerning either removing or, installing the running boards themselves. I do not wish to remove the running board from the vehicle I would just like to remove the aluminum cover (trim). Does anybody know how this is done? Do they pry off like you are able to pop off the wheel arches? Do I need to start from the front or rear? Any advise would be much appreciated.

My dealer had to replace mine. Unfortunately there is no easy way you have to remove the whole thing since the face plate is secured from underneath. In addition you might have to remove part of the rear fender if you have the extended version. Poor design

You need to remove the entire running board. The aluminum is secured with screw on the inner side (between the body of the car and the running board)
