iPhone4s media cradle

I'm sorry I wasted $$ on this thing..

For one.. U can't snap in the phone if it has a case on it... I don't know how anyone has an iPhone without a case lol

Can't find a case tht comes off easy so prying the thing apart all the time is not an option.

I found a dock extender cable (30 pin male-female cable) and it reads my iPhone under cd/multimedia fine but no go on BMW apps or plugin.. Plugin worked once..
I doubt it's the cable case when I did pry the case off and snap it to the cradle directly it still didn't work... Same functionality as with the cable.

BMW apps work if using the USB cable but not the plugin. And honestly the plugin is more important to me then the apps.
The last thing I need is all the retarded Facebook status updates popping up on my car screen or the 48kbps web radio station app lol

Why doesn't this cradle work? Any solutions. I've been reading horror stories about this cradle.

Any info to save me the trip to the dealer is much appreciated.
