BMW X5M 50 idrive full engine power no longer available

Hello everyone,

We just bought a new BMW from the UK about 6 months ago, a BMW X5M 50 i drive. A couple of months ago we started getting a problem: full engine power no longer available and our mechanic thought it was the spark plugs which he got changed and he also said there was a p3053 error code which he said was the 5th cyclinder misfiring (I couldn't find this on google though) and he rectified it. I have read that it can be a fuel pump issue. The car sometimes doesn't start on the first ago and then the error disappears if you switch it off and then on again. However sometimes the engine light stays on with the message about full engine power no longer available showing. The car shudders at slow speeds and there is very little power when trying to accelerate. Does anyone have any ideas of what to look for?

Thank you
