Monaco Blue Metallic

Hi all,

How rare or not is Monaco Blue? We're shopping for a pre-owned (08-09) E70 to replace our E53 and were originally looking for Black, and have found a lot of them but just came across a nice Monaco Blue and I'm wondering if anyone knows how much more rare the color is?

Also, what exactly is the difference with the Shadowline trim? Haven't had the opportunity to see one with and without side by side to compare.

Thanks!

Shadow trim is around the windows that looks glossy black.
E70 4.8 has Chrome on its non-sport model.
E70 3.0 has Black rubber.
E70 Sport models have this Shadow Trim.

Hope it helps.

How much more is it 'worth'???

To me, $0. To you? To the seller?

Personally I'd say there is no dollar value, really- some like it, some dont.

I bought one last year. see:
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...first-bmw.html

The color looks good. I haven't seen too many on road for this color.

Keep in mind that dust shows on this color. frequent car wash helps. A grey would be more dust-proof

Yeah, I have a black Audi S4 that is virtually swirl free but that requires two polishes with my orbital a year and a few waxes with frequent washing. I imagine the MB is about the same. We have Titanium Silver on our E53 X5 now, you could go a month without washing it and the only way you can tell is brake dust on the wheels!

A fellow Washingtonian's advice is appreciated

???

I asked how much more rare the color is, not how much more an X5 that color is worth. I don't see a lot of them and wondered if anyone knew the breakdown of how many X5's were produced in MB vs. Black for example.

I like it at any rate

If you're buying it from a dealer there is a price premium because it is a "rare" color.

If you are trading it in there is a price discount because it is an "unpopular" color.

Funny how that works...

Monaco Blue on an X5 is very nice - they don't offer it anymore, though.

The "Deep Sea Blue" is SHINIER however, and in my opinion, not a great choice for this vehicle.

Mine is Space Grey. Next time I'll probably go with Platinum, though. (and maybe an M at that) Space Grey is a VERY common color around here. We have three others at the office.
