Talking New 2012 X5 LCI 35d

Just bought my 2012 X5 35d. Decided on the diesel after reading the forums and test driving the weak V6. I thought I got a good price on the car but the sales person mislead me on the time of production, and the manager was kind enough to take off an extra $1000! He got me a February allocation as well so I am hoping to get my car soon. Paid $59,500 out the door at Russel BMW. I cant wait to put up the pictures of my new baby, and have already spent a disgusting amount of time looking at ways to customize the car. As a matter of fact Ive started buying parts and will be making an order tomorrow for a whole package of parts.

My build is as follows:

Deep Sea Blue Metallic
Oyster Nevada Leather
Dark Bamboo Trim
Premium Package
Premium Sound Package
Running boards
Soft close doors
BMW Apps
Space-saver spare

Items that I am purchasing for installation immediately upon arrival:

20" BMW 227m rims
Toyo Proxes ST2 Tires
LCI Aerodynamics Kit
Fender flares/extensions
TPMS Sensors
iPhone Snap-in Kit
Sunroof Deflector
Clear Front Bumper Cover

Any mistakes? Anything I should get? Thanks!

Agreed. The small screen in a big space would drive me nuts.

I know a lot of people on here like the toyo proxes st2 for their specific usage and reasons but I just bought a set and I hate'm. I really really hate them. This is just my personal opinion for what I like. Sidewalls are just way to soft, handling just isn't as responsive compared to the stock dunlops. Feels like I'm driving a Buick. Yes they may be better in the snow and give longer tire life. But what can I say. I shoulda got what I originally wanted. Nitto nt-05. Obviously wont last as long but a better fit for my driving habit. Alright, I'm done venting. : )

I would say skip the sunroof deflector, but to each their own. the pop-up screen that deploys when you open the sunroof does a fantastic job even with all the windows up. I had the deflector for all of about two days and it was actually worse than without it. took it off.

The Toyos are a compromise for sure - turn in is definitely less crisp, and the Dunlops have more grip. However, over our crappy roads, I find that it handles better on the softer Toyos. Add in the lighter steering at low speeds, and the smoother highway ride, and I think they are well worth it - and my primary reason for getting them was for snow.

What pressures are you running? I keep them at 35psi all around, and it is definitely no Buick.

"test driving the weak V6" - OP

First of all there's no such thing as a V6 in the X5

Second of all the 6 is not weak
0-60, 35i 6.4 ; 35d 6.9
Top speed, 35i 150 ; 35d 130

Lastly 35d is 35 horses less while 232 pounds fatter

Get your facts together buddy, congrats on your new ride, and enjoy being
