Cargo cover storage

The manual said depending on your vehicle's equipment package, you can store the cover under the floor panel in the cargo area.

I used the 3rd row seating for the 1st time yesterday, and at 1st glance, do not see a "clean" place to store it.

Anyone know if it can be stored neatly with 3rd row seating, short of shoving it awkwardly in the rear hatch?

thx

I don't think so. I've pondered this a million times. If I ever have to take the thing off, to fit something large in the back (maybe with the seats folded down), there is no where to put it other than laying it lengthwise next to your cargo. Sure would be nice, though.

Roll it, the way the liner came in the box.

No, I believe OP is talking about the cargo area COVER..the thing that is a glorified shade that is spring loaded...not the cargo LINER. The liner: you're SOL. You gotta just take it out and leave it at home if you think you're going to use the 3rd row.

Every X5 cargo cover ends up in my attic till I get a new one. Useless if you have a third row. I keep my fleece Black BMW blanket which BMW sent me after purchasing one of my past bmw's in the storage box in case I put something in the back which needs covering.

When I need the cargo cover off with the seats folded or unfolded. I just leave by the rear passenger floor/foot area. It doesn't get in the way if you put it correctly.
