Those are 20's? They look 18, maybe 19 at most... strange.

Yea the e70 has a way of gobbling up rims and making them seem all. It's the enormous wheel well

Its the lip on the rim that ruins the sizing. It takes about 2" away from the spokes.

The sidewall of your tires are too fat, it should be 275/40. Check the numbers at the BMW site. Your speedo is therefor, off.
Black rims always appear smaller than they actually are, so for a 20" to look 20" you must get 21" or 22".

But as for the speed error, yes it's off, but by 3.8%. I think it's somewhat commonly known that BMW speedo's are off by a few miles per hour faster than actual. Case in point, my radar detector shows actual speed. When My X5 speedo says 80MPH, the radar detector shows 76. Because of his tire sizes, he may be closer to actual values that you or I, lol. |

I agree. I have 275/45x20 on mine.
Did this on purpose, because I wanted the "extra" cushion going to the bigger wheel ... speedo error compared to stock 18" wheel is only 2.5%, that's acceptable.
