In retrospect and after driving with the new transmission there were definitely warning signs that probably slowly worsened over time but since I didn't have any perspective I didn't notice. For example when starting from a stop, at a light for example, you could feel the transmission engage with a jerk ever so slightly which worsened over time. A similar things would happen when down shifting at certain speeds. Again, at the time I didn't really notice but now that the transmission is silky smooth I'm realizing there were signs; if that makes sense.
