1. You need a tool box with tools.
2. Jack and jack stands 3. Pads, Rotors. 4. If the sensor has been triggered (is there a brake pad warning??) you'll need a replacement. 5. getbmwparts.com... 6. Not sure how to reset. A |

Take the wheel off and look. Or go to Sears and get a set, so cheap it's hard to believe.

To add to previous poster's comments above, even if the brake pad sensor light isn't on yet you should replace the sensor, as the E70 includes a two stage sensor; the first contact is to refine the remaining life estimate, and the second contact is to turn the warning light on. You could be through the first contact and not up to the second. No programming required. If you need to do brakes, you may be up to the two year change interval for brake fluid. Worth doing. But if you do it, don't get air in the system, as it gets trapped in the ABS controller, and paying the the dealer to hook up their service tool to cycle the controller while bleeding gets expensive. And when you take out the 7 mm hex guide bolts, make sure you put them back in dry. Do not lubricate them.

No problem. We are actually a pretty helpful bunch. Some of us like the place enough that we have hung around for five years after selling our X5s.
