this is a great writeup, how are your Toyo proxies holding up, i ve read they get loud, What is your experience with them in a snow ? ride quality ? are you running staggered setup ? As i am entertaining keeping the 20's and just changing the tire.

thanks again.

To the OP - I replaced the 20" RFT for Toyo Proxes, primarily for occasional driving in snow. The ride is significantly improved. They are not 'performance' tires, however, so some grip is sacrificed. The softer sidewall effectively reduces the spring rate, so there is a bit more body roll and turn-in is less crisp, however I find the increase in compliance provides better handling overall on anything less than freshly paved roads (of which there are few around here). Lighter low-speed steering is a bonus, as is longer tread life.

My Proxes are holding up quite well. The tread life is remarkable. Doesn't give me an excuse to go with new rim/tire combination that I'm longing for.

So far, so good. 20" OEM staggered sizes. No issues with noise; they seem quieter than the Dunlops (they had 10k miles on them when I switched). Ride quality is much better (although I did not mind the stiff Dunlops, the wife did - she now drives the X5 more often). I have not had an opportunity to give them a good test in the snow - it has been a mild winter in the Sierras.
