2003 X5 : disable check taillight/brake light warning

I replaced the rear taillights on my X5 to 'solve' the known problem of getting the Check Brake Light and Check Taillight warning. Well now it goes off all the time. The aftermarket lights are working great.

Any way to disable the warning with out buying OEM tail lights?

Lot's of aftermarket lights out there I am sure this has been an issue but searching has not turned up much.
