Self Leveling Suspension covered by EVP

I'm looking at a used 2012 with the Self Leveling Suspension. I will probably add the Gold level Extended Vehicle Protection plan through BMW but was curious if this potentially costly repair item will be covered down the road. The information from BMW doesn't specially mention anything about suspension.

Should be covered, why wouldnt it be?

Are there a lot of omissions? I thought everything was basically included...

My understanding is that the evp does not cover suspension items.

I believe you would see that 'wear items' are excluded...and as such the shocks (which are the self leveling actuators) are excluded.

OP are you reading the POLICY or just the pamphlet?

I joined this site specifically to correct this inaccurate information. The self leveling system utilizes air springs/bags. These are not dampers/shocks, or "self leveling actuators" of any sort.

You are correct, but I think the paperwork I read specifically excluded suspension items from the warranty. Other items I seem to recall being excluded included wear and tear items and seals. So if the self adjusting suspension were covered, if it failed due to seals in the accumulators, it wouldn't be covered anyway.

Wow, aren't we being helpful...

Then come back and we can discuss the FACT that some components of the self leveling system which are PART of the shock will NOT be covered.

Read it. OK, apples and oranges. That thread was talking about the damper control module. Adaptive dampers are not the same as air springs. These are two completely separate systems that are part of a total suspension system. It's like saying that control arms are equivalent to sway bars. I'm not making a statement as to whether or not a item is warranted or not. I was merely correcting your characterization of the self-leveling rear suspension as "shocks".

Not sure what I was thinking, actually.... that thread I linked is, indeed, adaptive drive....

Anyway, would be nice to see a copy of the EVP in terms of a pdf.
