Extended warranty for X5 V8 ?

Does anybody knows of a decent extended warranty that will accept V8 X5 ?
My car is a 2011 5.0, I had it under CPO and just bought another year extension but it will run out next year so I need to see now about a new warranty or may be thinking of selling it with a couple month warranty on it to secure a buyer.

The car has 55k miles, pretty much all options aside of adaptive cruise control and heads up display.

So there is plenty to fail I just had for $15k of warranty repair last week, nothing huge but plenty of small stuff including valve seat job, turbo auxiliary pumps, turbo collant line, bunch of gasket to stop a small oil leak.

The year before that I had the whole air suspension pump system replaced along with both air shocks, that was costly too, needless to say, I don't feel like keeping the car without warranty.

On the other hand the car is not worth much, only $20k as trade-in at carmax. Hopefully 25k as private party. I realy dont' want to sell it. It drives like a million dollar and interior is still in pristine condition. Fantastic car overall, and i absolutely love it. I had a 2016 X5 loaner for 2 weeks and boy I was glad to get back my E70 V8 ! Especially the adaptative suspensions! Believe it or not I was not missing the power or the steering feel that much.

We had warranty direct and they to the tune of 11-12'ish...
However, I recommended it to a bro-in-law and WD seems to have changed their policy or way of handeling it. Granted, it's all up to adjusters and stuff, but now they cover rebuilt parts, used parts from junkers, etc.
My experience with them was completely opposite. All OE parts, etc. YMMV

So you will spend an additional $40k so as not to risk owning the car without a warranty?

Not $40k, but I would be ready to spend $2k per year for warranty that is for sure.
Not only engine could blow but little things add up really quickly with these cars. Especially when you have a bunch of options like adaptative suspension, air suspensions and the v8

I wish I had a way to sale the car for parts in case worst come to worst but so far if let's say engine blow or something that cost $10k blows, I don't know where I could sale the car as is, so I would have to repair the car if I dont' want to take a $20k loss. Parts are really expensive on these cars but junkyard give you next to nothing for a disabled car, I'd say $5k...a shame when you think every tiny part cost a fortune and my car looks pristine.

Phil.

You need to source your parts from other places besides the stealer. I have a lot of parts from Rockauto. And, I have a real good indy!!

There really is no 'warranty' that covers bumper to bumper 6+ years out...

Are you a "BMW dealer only" kind of owner? That $15k is breathtaking....

But my point is that if you sell it now and buy a new car with warranty, it will cost you 40k. You will be out from under the risk of repairs, but that peace of mind will cost dearly. Any kind of warranty you find will likely not be total protection- they tend to have lots of exclusions AND lifetime caps on payouts.
