Coolant work cost

I dropped of the X5 after receiving a coolant low level warning and was told the following by the SA;

Here is the estimate as we discussed on the phone.

coolant bottle with new cap and transmission sensor, and lower hose on the coolant bottle replaced. estimate $765.00

This seems a little steep? Any comments in whether I should just do this myself of take to an Indy?

thanks,
monto

How much are you into them if you just pick it up???

I'll be they get you for 2 hours of diagnosis.

I'd DIY...I think he is BSing or 'wrong' about the "transmission sensor'...Here: Expansion tank. Fits: 2008 BMW X Series (E53,E70,E71,E83) X5 3.0si | BMW of South Atlanta

No idea what car you actually have, but this cannot be hard.

08 3.0si. I asked that he send over part numbers so I can see what this sensor is. He had to order a part so no work is planned to get done until Friday. I could pull out now and probably pay for the diagnosis.

Seems like a waste of my time.... you've given him the OK and he ordered parts and you dont know what you owe.
