Reminds of when the E90 first came out. There was one a little ways ahead of me and I thought, "there's something strange-looking about that Accord." Got closer and had to see the roundel before I realized it was a 328i.

I may be in the minority here, but I always thought that the Edge looked like an E70. Not up close, not inside, but from a distance, sure. I have rented an Edge several times, and enjoyed the vehicle for the few days that I had it. Not anything like the BMW driving dynamics, but I don't think it was ever claimed to be.
