5.0 Exhaust tips?

I was looking for alternatives for exhaust tips on real OEM, and found that the 5.0 has duel pipes, but only one seems to be functional:

LCI 5.0

Whereas for the X5 M50d (or any other X5, I'm just looking gloss black tips instead chrome) They have a single pipe:

X5 M50d

4.8

So judging by the diagram, the additional pipe for the 5.0 is a dummy pipe, correct? If not, then I assume it could be trimmed ti fit my current exhaust box.

Thank you.

looking closer at the diagram for the 50 it appears as though the pipes have a solenoid attached to them, which might imply that there is a butterfly valve on those, that means that the other pipes are also functional... since when the butterfly is closed, no exhaust would be able to escape?

The 4.8 has chrome square tips, and X5 M50d has gloss black square exhaust tips.
Check on RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog for part #

If you want the single pipe black chrome tips, they're available to retrofit, it's part 18302218603. They're also included with the performance muffler for the 35i as well, part: 18302166934.

If you want the dual pipe black chrome for the 50i, they're part number: 18307639891. They comes standard on the 50i with the M Performance Package (ZMX), full exhaust system part number: 18307639892.

Had to do a ton of research on this trying to figure out what exhaust was supposed to come on my 35i with ZMX.

Which model do you have, 50i or 35i? They're both clamp on, so if you're current exhaust has them welded, it's a cut and clamp.

I had mine adjusted at the dealer today to get them sitting even, BMW didn't make the performance exhaust for the 35i an easy install, have to adjust the exhaust and the tips to make sure everything lines up but they got it right after a few tries.

This is what mine look like:

Here's the kit's number: 18302185392

I think you'll need the trim covers too: 51122167733
