Will 2011 X5 bumper covers fit an '09?

Hi all!! New to the board, and i have to say it's pretty informative, so i figured i'd ask a good question here.

I like the painted look of the 2011 X5 bumper covers, and i'd like to put them on my '09 (3.0i Picked up as a CPO in August). When mine was at the dealer sitting next to an '11, the lines seemed to match up perfectly, and the chassis of the cars hasn't changed, so i would assume they would fit. Anyone know for sure? Next after that is factory fender flares and some sweet 214 style rims!!

Its more than the bumpers. You need new fenders.

pre LCI models dont have a front bumper cover per se. the fenders come all the way to the front grilles. LCI models do have a bumper cover in the traditional sense.
as for the rear, i hear the LCI rear bumper will fit, with a few additional parts.

Has anyone on this forum ever swapped a rear LCI bumper on to their pre-lci e70? It looks like it should work but never have seen it done.

i guess the rear should fit like a glove.

It will fit perfectly for the rear. The LCI rear bumper come with rear fenders/laterals in one piece. You have to remove the rear laterals from the pre-LCI to make it fit.

That's what I was thinking as well. Wanted to find out if anyone actually did it to see if there were any annoying issues ie. parking sensors not fitting or having to get new/adjust the exhaust tips.

Just wanted to add that pre-LCI 4.8i exhaust tips will not fit on LCI 50i cover. No problem with rounded exhaust tips.

I have a silver 08 3.0 with the black rear bumper which I hate! (hate the black bumper, not the x5). I've researched replacing it with a lci bumper but after adding up the prices on all the components I decided to go another route. My Delima on where to transition from the silver bumper to the black wheel arches was solved yesterday when my rear mud flaps arrived. I'm going to paint the entire bumper except for the bezels around the exhaust tips. The transition at the wheel arches and bumper are going to be covered by the mud flaps. I'll post pics after I'm done
