I don't have the BMW charger that you pictured, but I have a similar one and there's no problem closing the sliding lid with this in place.

Which one do you have? Is it working good for you? Thanks.

I have the Belkin (Belkin Car Micro Charger 1 AMP F8Z446ttP) charger. It works fine. It only has an output capacity of 1 amp, so it's not a real speedy charger, but it's good for the occasional top off.

I have the same Belkin charger... charges my phone at a pretty decent rate actually. Cant close the lid if the cable is plugged in tho... but it does close with just the charger plugged in. a 90 degree USB adapter should do the trick.

As I said on "the other forum", if you're going to plug it into the center arm rest, get a dual port charger so that you can charge 2 devices at once.
