I drive my X5 on that beach all the time and it can get worse than that sometimes. You have to hold down the DSC buttom until it totally disconnects, not just push it once.

Also due to lack of ground clearence you have to keep the X moving otherwise it will sit on its belly in the soft beach sand and if you stop, you find some hard ground to stop on.

For your interest, on full & new moon's the surf will come up and splash right up to the edge of the sand dunes along this 50klm stretch of beach.

From the 3rd Cutting on to the beach at Noosa to my beach house is a 14klm run, and I have done it on numerous occassions at full tide and at night, hard up against the dunes, dodging waves, coconuts and driftwood, its a rally all the way

Good times, nice location...

I recall renting a Pajero, the guys warning me about radar traps and sobriety check points ON THE BEACH. They felt the drink driving checks were particularly un-australian...basically an affront to their civil liberties.

The Drug Squad & Traffic cops stay in the Teewah Village up where my beach house is on the Christmas & Easter holidays. They pretty much leave us alone in the village.

Last Easter a couple people dropped dougnuts on the beach with there 4X4's, the cops grabed the there 4x4 for 48 hours under the hooning laws and also gave them traffic fines as well..

This whole stretch of beach as actually a designated highway and all road rules apply. You now also need a permit to drive on the beach and no pets allowed. Teewah Village residents get an exception from the permits.

This is what I drive once I arrive at the beach house!

It was a 4 wheel X1, they just think if it's a 4 wheel drive it can go anywhere?
