In googling this it seems that there are people tha tmake these things - if I can get more detail Im sure we can get something done.
Now - does the CIC in front have a video output? Or does that require a box? In the BMW code there are references to the RSE in the CIC but I have not looked at the options to see if there was an "enable RSE output" in the CIC - that way all we would need would be the wire |

The CIC does not have a video output, so you'd need the appropriate interface. Once you have video coming out of the CIC, the RSE screen has an unused input, that will accept a composite signal. Unfortunately, you'd be doomed to listening to the DVD that's being played, which is why the people I spoke with in Germany suggested using an aftermarket DVD player, mounted in the glovebox, and connected to the CIC through their A/V input. That way, the RSE remains a seperate system, if you want it to be, or you could play the same DVD on both screens at the same time. When you want to, you can then change the CIC source and leave the RSE playing its DVD. The headphones would still work too.
There is an "enable RSE" in the BMW code but not an "enable RSE output" in the code, or at least I'm told there isn't. There is only an audio connection between the RSE and CIC. |
