Windshield replacement

Glad I was sitting when I got the quote from the dealer
$1412 for parts
$703 for labour
This is to replace a windshield for an E70 with HUD in Toronto. Driving on the DVP today adjacent to a convoy of trucks

1412 is probably right for the part, but 703 for labor? outside shops can do it with a cheap windshield for 500, part & labor.

Will your insurance cover it?

If it's repairable, would you consider it? Your insurance may cover the entire cost if you choose to repair instead of replace. Just a thought.

I'm getting it replaced through insurance. This is the first glass claim that I have ever made, because in all the other cases, I'd pay on my own.
