Remote GPS tracking

Anyone installed a GPS tracker?
I was thinking of two choices
1) could get one of those TK104 model from eBay and buy a gsm sim
2) buy an old iPhone and leave it hidden in the car, add it to "find friends" so it can be tracked.

What's your opinion guys? At other simple and reliable tricks?

BMW remote app not available in Australian App Store. Doesn't look like the service is available either

All you have to do is google it:

yes, bmw assist IS available in Australia.

and here's the app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...w.remote&hl=en
