new guy here few ?'s

hello fellas, new to the site. i was on x5world a while back, seems like this is pretty much the same site. ive been lurking trying to gather as much info as i can for my next purchase, 09-10 48i msport. they seem pretty hard to find. im going on my 3rd week of shopping and every one within my budget and a 500mile radius has sold by the time i call on it. ive found a few but over 1000 miles away and i cant imaging buying a car without seeing it. past vehicles in order were 04 745, then i moved to snow and got 04 x5 4.4, bought a house had a baby so next an 07 tahoe. now im coming back to the darkside.

unbelievable how expensive these cars are now. i bought my 04 x5 for 53k brand new, now they are over 70k, geez

so im in the market for an 09 or maybe a 10 cpo for no more than 45k. i have read that the dvd changer on the 09s play movies in park or while driving if coded. can anyone comment on the video quality. this is a must for the wife to be a happy passenger on long trips. i have only test driven 3 x5s so far and it seems like the rattles are still around. my 04 had a ton... also 2 of the 3 msports i drove had a rattle coming from the driver side front, seems suspension related. is that a problem area on this model?

any info is appreciated. just need to find the right one so i can start the mods. great site btw

Surely you jest, you want your wife to be able to watch movies while you drive? Get her an ipad!

Where are you shopping? The trick is to find a current owner trading in a lease or doing a teade in... By being a mature and savvy buyer you may snag a deal.

Also, a plane flight out and weekend drive back should not be viewed as a roadblock.... If you find the right owner trying to avoid a predatory dealer trade offer!

Good luck

Wish I had the time for that approach. My Tahoe sold so fast leaving my crotch rocket as my only transportation. Rented a car for this week since its kinda chilly...I think I found one about 6hrs away. No rse but pretty much everything else. I'm in the northeast, its gonna suck to buy a car then have to buy tires for it. Wished they put all seasons on them.

I'm new here too. (kinda...been on e53 section for a while) I bought the black 2008 4.8 at BMW Cleveland last week. I love it. Dramatically different from my 2006 4.4. Can't imagine what the M is like.

I agree with the prior posts, don't fret over in dash dvd. I spent a lot of time working on this for wife's lexus gx470 and neither she nor kids watch it, they just watch ipads and itouches. Good luck with search, I drove mine as a loaner while my 4.4 was in for last cpo service....and then bought it. Not a lot of thought involved, just really liked the ride.

I will honk on my way to Ellicottville come December.

Im sure ive seen your new car then bc ive been stalking their site lately. I'm in Cleveland often. Twice last week. Do u know a good independent there? I plan to lower and add spacers. I did it myself on the Tahoe, but I'm intimidated by BMW...
