Ordered My New X5! 40d

Well, I placed an order last week for my new X5 Platinum Grey / Black Perforated Leather ext. + leather dash / Bamboo. I also got the Performance/aero LCI body kit with black kidney and bumper grills, and some other performance bits. I am having second thought About Platinum Grey tough... My 2nd choice was Jet Black, but Its a bitch to keep clean. I am going for a Grey/black look with many more mods to come (also going to paint the running boards PG at the dealer) There will be no silver showing when its done I know this would work with an all black look, but I think its overplayed, I want something different, so PG it is. I can still change the spec and colour but by monday, so I need to make my mind up pretty soon. Any suggestions?

Spec list:

BMW X5 xDrive40d SE

in Platinum Grey

with the following options:

Platinum Grey
Self-Levelling Rear Axle
Towing capacity, increased
Steering wheel heating
Alloy Wheels in Black
Alarm system (Thatcham 1)
Bootlid operation, powered
Soft-close doors
Running boards, aluminium
Roof rails, black
Towbar, fully electric
Luggage compartment separating net
Sunblinds - rear side windows
Floor mats, velour
First Aid Kit & Triangle
Rear-view mirror, auto dimming
Smokers package
Oscillating seat base function, driver
Seat ventilation, front
Lumbar support, driver and front pass.
Extended storage
Seat heating, front
Seat heating, rear
Dark Bamboo wood interior trim
Instrument panel, leather
Rear-view mirror with digital compass
Air conditioning, automatic with four-zone control
Headlight wash
Park Distance Control (PDC), front and rear
Rain sensor with auto. headlight activation
Xenon headlights
Cruise control with brake function
Extended Interior Light Package
12V power sockets
Passenger airbag deactivation, front
Internet
Voice Control
Loudspeaker system - BMW Professional
6-disk CD changer
Telephone USB audio interface
Sun protection glass

Dynamic package
Exterior trim, High-gloss Shadowline
Headlining, Anthracite
Sport suspension
Comfort seats, front
Auto transmission Sport leather steering wheel with
gearshift paddles
Black Perforated Nevada leather
20" Y-Spoke style 214 alloy wheels

Media package
Enhanced Bluetooth telephone functionality with
telematics
DAB digital radio
BMW Assist
USB audio interface
Navigation-system Professional
BMW Assist online portal

BMW Performance body kit front and rear with tow hitch (-side skirts, + running boards) BMW Performance pedals and footrest, BMW Performance Kidney & Bumper Grills, black. Bamboo Steering wheel and Shifter trim.

Here is what mine will look like. This is just a rough estimation from the US configure of a 35d:

UPDATE: Changed to Black

Ordered/Mod/to do when it comes list:
AC Schnitzer exhaust or Supersprint exhaust (suggestions?)
ECU er-map (around 370 HP)
SprintBooster V3
C's Style badges
Gloss Black MB BITURBO badge instead of XDRIVE40D
E46 smocked sidemarkers
Tint the chrome taillight strip
6000K Fogs
Xenon reverse lights
LED interior
///M shadowline roof rails
Small 300mm Number Plates
35% Tint match front windows
50% Windshield

Thats it I think, any other suggestions?

Thanks

Looks great.

I know that BMW North America bundles all the stuff that the rest of the world has the option to add or delete, I wish we had that freedom. I'm sure it would come at a cost though, as I realize that we have some of the best pricing in the world.

Just out of curiosity, I see that you selected "Towing capacity, increased", can you tell me what the standard capacity is and how much this option increases your towing capacity?

I'm paying almost $110 USD for my X, as oppose to maybe $70-$80 in US, so yea, for the price of my 40D, i could of got a full spec x5m or even ///M6 in the US, so consider yourselves lucky

I'm not sure about the towing capacity at standard, but my dealer tells me the X is noticeably more powerful when towing (not sure I will ever tow anything though, just got it for extra strength in the rear bumper, and more powerful engine capability

My Pcar is slate grey, and THAT is a bitch to keep clean...

I'd never, ever, ever own black...it'd drive me nuts. Shows every microswirl and spec.

IMO

All my other cars are a form of black (matte, gloss jet, metallic...) apart from My E31 (RED ) so I know its bitch to keep clean, but I wash them often. I'm just worried about the look of the car, rather than practicality. Either way, its cleans a few times a week.
