Subwoofer... lost all base

My wife started her X5 this morning and came in and said there was no base in the sound system. Not believing her I went out and sure enough the base was gone. I have searched the forums and found very little in the way of troubleshooting. I started my search with the main fuse on the amplifier located in the cargo area on the left hand side. The fuse is fine.

Has anyone experienced anything similar in their sound system? Based on the level of service or lack thereof from the dealer, I will only take it there as a last resort. Any troubleshooting tips from fellow X5 owners would be greatly appreciated.

The X5 is a 2007 4.8. Bought the car from my father in-law and he said it has the premium level sound package. Thanks to all, I am hoping this post can help me out.

have you tried to adjust the tremble and bass, to see if that has any effect on the output?
