Wish I had not purchased a diesel

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm really begining to wish I had got the gasoline version instead. With a price difference of almost a dollar between gas and diesel here in Minnesota, filling the tank is really a pain.

Around Southern Wisconsin, the difference is much less. I filled-up today with diesel at $3.87 and Premium gasoline at $3.36, a difference of 51 cents, or 15% higher. With the higher PG of the diesel, I'm still paying less per mile.

Any idea why the price difference is so much higher in MN?

Yeah that sucks, and you'd already pay a premium when you bought it! But you still have that intoxicating torque.

Could also be a difference in motor fuels taxes between petrol and diesel.

Diesel prices are fairly stable in the southeast, currently running about $0,15-0,20/US gallon more than premium petrol so its not too far off here.

Supply and demand. Winter brings competition between diesel and heating fuel.

Our diesel is very close to premium price but I get far better mileage than a 4.8L.

With the eco credit, I don't think there is a significant premium to pay for the diesel. Fully agree on the torque intoxication (I'm an addict...).

Diesel is priced maybe 6% higher in the East-of-Toronto area - makes the diesel model very worthwhile. The diesel price tends not to fluctuate as much as the gas price: recently gas was $1.22 and diesel was around $1.24 (all $Can per litre)
Just got back from UK - gas there is around £1.33 per litre, almost $5 per US gallon...

It kills me when people spend $1 a mile for a luxury car, and complain about the 5 cents cost of fuel.....
