Noise/clunk when start moving in reverse**UPDATE FIXED**

Every time I press the gas in reverse hard enough to transfer vehicle weight I can hear and feel a clunk. When I release the accelerator it makes another clunk. Im thinking a transmission mount, universal joint or a cv joint.

Any ideas?
Are the mounts easy to access?

could be a gazillion things - engine mounts, rear subframe bushings... they are known to desintegrate...

any other symptoms?

Every once in a while over large enough bumps traveling at a good clip I can hear something bang down there.

you need to lift the car up and check the bushings, check for the play in the half driveshafts...

Also, while car is on the ground, engine running, put the car in gear, hold the brakes, and try to rev the engine (not like you are going to race! a little bit) - if the engine is acting like it is ready to jump out the engine bay, you might have engine mount issues. You might need two people to do this one.

I put the truck on ramps and discovered the 6 gear box support bolts could use some tightening. They weren't very loose but they could stand to be tighter for the job they perform (keeping the tranny in the car). I also tightened the bolt that's in the rear of the mount at the back of the tranny.

I don't really see how this mount works (looks like 1 bolt does the work) but I just tightened everything. Now when I gas hard in reverse my head hits the steering wheel from torque but there is no noise.
